This has been a project I have been meaning to do for a while after I spotted it on the East Somerset Railway.
Thought it was a very attractive water tower with plenty of character, also thought it was a design that could easily be done whilst being strong enough once complete when 3D printed. I finally started this project when someone talked about adding a water tower to the club’s layout.
This item has been designed at OO gauge, 1/76.2 scale. For HO Gauge print at 87%, 1/87 Scale,For O Gauge UK print at 175%, 1/43.5 scale,For O Gauge International print at 158%, 1/48 scale,For TT Gauge print at 63.5%, 1/120 scale, for N Gauge UK print at 51.5%, 1/148 Scale, (Caution: I have not test printed this in N gauge scale).
This example in the pictures were printed on an AnyCubic Proton M3 3D resin printer.I recommend printing these on a 3D resin printer to get the best print definition. As per normal with my designs, there is a balance between accuracy and printability, hopefully not affecting the look of the model too much.
I use AnyCubic Water Washable Resin for most of my items but use AnyCubic ABS Like Resin for anything that needs to be stronger and tougher.
