DESCRIPTION

Magnetic retainerDesigned for attaching a fly fishing net to a pack/harness but useful for anything where a strong magnetic retainer is needed.

Specifications

  • Designed to take an 18mm x 5mm button magnet
  • Supports a static load of up 7.8 Kg when when N48 Neodimium magnets are used.

Printing

  • 50% - 100% or higher infill reccomended for strength
  • Print in orientation shown in images
  • Support is required under the part but the loop can be printed unsupported

Assembly

  1. Ensure magnet socket is free from support material and extra plastic
  2. Clean magnet and part thoroughly with alcohol
  3. Apply glue generously to magnet and socket (Super glue may be used but magnets may get stuck half inserted, i reccomend using a slower setting glue that bonds to both metal and plastic. 5 minute epoxy may be more suitable)
  4. Insert Magnet in socket, ensuring magnet is seated all the way. The magnet should sit below the level of the socket.
