Model Info:

This model is for personal use only and is not to be distributed. Commercial use must buy a new copy of the model set for each physical item produced using any of my designs.

At full scale, this katana model is about 41 inches long. These models have been designed so that two pieces of 3/16th inch rod can be inserted to reinforce the katana. You will need 36 inches of rod total, one piece of rod 18.5 inches long, and one piece of rod 17.5 inches long. If you are doing the broken version of the katana, you can add 10 inches of rod for added weight.

The flame details on the katana, the kanji engraving, and the design on the scabbard are embossed on the model for easy painting and added detail, and are not visual textures added only for the model render images like on some similar models.

The scabbard has been designed with some additional room on the inside so that the inside edges can be lined with fabric to protect the katana as it slides in and out. The model's handle has been left bare so that it can be wrapped as seen in the anime and manga.

The file set comes with both the full pieces, and the pieces cut for printing on smaller printers.

The stand has the engraving 炎 (honoo) which is a Japanese kanji for blaze.

3/23/22 UPDATE:I have resized the tsuba slightly, and have included the files for a more screen accurate scabbard and a updated stand to fit it. These files are labeled as V2. The updated scabbard is pictured in the final two images and not alongside the katana due to some issues in the rendering process. In the first image the original scabbard design is pictured.
