DESCRIPTION

On my club model railway, I was trying to find a platform building for one of the platforms, but I couldn't find anything suitable, so in the end, I decided to model something based on a few ideas. so, this design is based on the other platform buildings I did a short while ago, but in a slimmer form with the windows and doors on one side.

With this model, there are two designs for the main body. Please see photos for more info.

I printed most of the parts of this model with a 0.2mm nozzle, but it can easily be printed with a 0.4mm nozzle only. The main building and roof were printed and then painted, and the other parts were printed in the colour needed. I also printed several parts with my multi-colour FDM printer, and this limited the amount of painting; items can be printed with a single colour printer and then paint the details. I have made the roof removable, and you can use 5mm x 1mm magnets to hold the roof in place.

All parts have been designed to be printed flat on your printer. The brick walls and slate roof are printed in the correct orientation; the windows and doors need to be printed flat, and then glue clear plastic to the back. The gutters and fascia’s part is best printed inverted, and I have included location pins to align the fascia with the slate roof. Internal doors are best printed in the correct orientation, but are best printed with a brim.

The corner pillars of the building are hollow in case you want to run cabling down them for lighting.

The model is approximately 170mm long, 47mm wide and 63mm tall

designed at OO gauge, 1/76.2 scale, but can easily be scaled for other gauges.for HO gauge print at 87%, 1/87 Scale, Not Testedfor TT gauge print at 63.5% 1/120 Scale, Not Testedfor O gauge UK at 175%, 1/43.5 Scale, Not Testedfor O gauge International print at 158%, 1/48 Scale, Not Testedfor N gauge print at 51.49%, 1/148 Scale, (Caution: I have not printed this model in N gauge so I can’t guarantee its printability, not suited for FDM printing)

I used the following filaments to make these models.ANYCUBIC PLA+ 3D Printer Filament White https://amzn.to/443kezJELEGOO PLA+ Filament Grey https://amzn.to/4hTC8KSELEGOO PLA+ Filament Brown https://amzn.to/3XxfTB3ELEGOO PLA+ Filament Beige https://amzn.to/3LWGhlkANYCUBIC PLA+ 3D Printer Filament Black https://amzn.to/4qWcZDD

Another option is to print the building with ELEGOO Marble PLA Filament https://amzn.to/43uZGQw rather than paint the bricks (do not use a 0.2mm nozzle with this filament).
