After being revived as the White Wizard, Gandalf was given a new staff of power by Galadriel at Lothlórien. Gandalf's power and wisdom were greatly increased following this rebirth, allowing him to more directly aid the Free Peoples of Middle-earth in their need, and to denounce and overthrow the treacherous Saruman, becoming the head of both the Order of Wizards and the White Council in the process. Gandalf the White's staff was of ash wood, and presumably white in colour.
