Tash-Kalar Board Game Organizer Insert

Tash-Kalar Board Game Organizer Insert 3D print model

Description

Organizer for the Tash-Kalar base game and three expansions---Etherweave, Everfrost, and Nethervoid---designed for upright storage.

Oddly enough, the design of this organizer was dictated primarily by the card sleeves. The cards are an odd size, and Mayday appears to be the only manufacturer with the appropriate sleeves (pictured). The cards ... just ... barely ... fit in the sleeves, though, which causes them to bow unless some sort of flattening force is applied. Consequently, I designed a separate box for each school that stores the cards in a squished state. The two PlayerTrays can then be used during the game for draw and discard piles.

In general, yellow objects are for general use, while school-specific items are in the other colors. Special printing/usage instructions:

FlareBottom---Print two; used for both the Flare and Legendary Beings decks.

FlareTop---Print three; used with both FlareBottoms and TaskBottom. (Note: FlareTop and SchoolTop are slightly different and not interchangeable with the respective bottoms.)

PlayerTray---Print two for the draw and discard piles for each player.

SchoolBottom---Print seven, one each for the seven different schools (four base + three expansions).

SchoolTop---Ditto.

TokenTray---Ditto. (The recess underneath the Legendary Pieces can hold the Gateway marble.)

SchoolSpacer and TokenSpacer are needed to prevent shifting during upright storage. The bottoms for Flare, Legendary Beings, and Task decks can also be used for trays during play. Simply remove the lid, and cards will gradually expand (hopefully less so over time).

The sizing of some of the .stls seem slightly off. The lid of the school trays is slightly too large to fit. Haven't checked all of them yet. Adjusting a couple millimeters fixes it.

Thanks for the feedback, securityrake. My lids printed well, but when printing such thin pieces, even slight warping can lead to misalignment in the mating parts. I had a few issues at first myself, until I figured out that my printer bed was having uneven temperature issues. Happy printing!
