In the upper levels of Coruscant, long before the Empire tightened its grip, the Varnyx Transit Sigil passed quietly between captains who could afford discretion. Forged during the waning centuries of the High Republic, it was less a coin than a promise, a sliver of alloy cut to interface with private docking arrays along minor hyperspace lanes. Its etched channels once aligned with obsolete port readers, granting unregistered vessels clearance through corridors that never appeared on public charts. When the Republic’s authority fractured and trade routes were absorbed or erased, the guild that issued the sigil vanished into audits and arrests. Most of their tokens were seized and destroyed, yet a few slipped into shadow markets, traded not for wealth but for silence. By the time it found its way into the gallery of Luthen Rael in Andor, the sigil no longer opened hyperlanes. It opened conversations, the kind spoken softly, between those who understood that the smallest object can carry the memory of resistance.
