My Hero Academia is a manga written and illustrated by Kōhei Horikoshi. It is based on a one-shot by the same author, published in the fifth volume of the manga Ōmagadoki Dōbutsuen under the title My Hero. A VOMIC based on the manga was released on January 11, 2015.

It has spawned several spin-off manga. An anime adaptation of the original manga began airing on April 3, 2016. Additional stories have been adapted into light novels by Anri Takahashi. Furthermore, four video games have been developed by Bandai Namco Games and Takara Tomy. In a poll conducted by the Japanese television network TV Asahi to choose the 100 Greatest Manga of All Time, My Hero Academia ranked 16th.
