Harald was the most recent king of Elbaph and a member of the Knights of God.He is the father of Hajrudin and Loki, born respectively from Ida, his original lover, and Estrid, his official spouse.
Celebrated in his homeland as a wise king, Harald spent most of his reign campaigning to undo Elbaph's negative reputation as a violent, brutish nation and make it a member nation of the World Government. Among his local accomplishments are ordering the construction of the Walrus School and the several branch routes that connect Elbaph's villages together.
Harald ultimately joined the Knights of God to strengthen ties with the World Government, unaware that his autonomy was slowly being stripped away due to the Covenant with Imu. Before Imu could fully take control of his mind, Harald asked Loki to kill him to prevent the enslavement of Elbaph and to reveal the truth behind his role in the Government. While Loki honored Harald's first request, he refused to act on the latter to preserve Harald's legacy. As a result, the people of Elbaph believed that Loki had murdered his own father in cold blood to seize the throne, as well as the royal family's legendary Devil Fruit, for himself. This belief would remain for the next 14 years, until Jarul revealed the World Government's deception while obscuring Harald's actions and blaming his death on the Government's demons to protect both Harald and Loki's reputations.
Harald's life and death make him a major figure in the flashback and present day events of the Elbaph Arc.
