DESCRIPTION

*Golden statue figure from Tutankhamun 3d printable model *Tutankhamun, also known as Tutankhamen, was an ancient Egyptian pharaoh who reigned from around 1332 to 1323 BC during the late Eighteenth Dynasty of ancient Egypt. Born as Tutankhaten, he was believed to be the son of Akhenaten, possibly identified as the KV55 mummy. His mother, confirmed through DNA testing as The Younger Lady buried in KV35, was a full sister of her husband.

Ascending to the throne at the age of nine after the brief reigns of his predecessors Smenkhkare and Neferneferuaten, Tutankhamun married his half-sister Ankhesenpaaten, who was likely the mother of his two daughters. During his rule, he reinstated the traditional polytheistic ancient Egyptian religion, reversing the religious changes of Atenism. His efforts were documented on the Restoration Stela. The worship of the god Amun in Thebes was revived, and the royal couple changed their names to Tutankhamun and Ankhesenamun, dropping the -aten suffix. He also relocated the royal court from Amarna back to Memphis, reestablished diplomatic ties with the Mitanni, and conducted military campaigns in Nubia and the Near East. Tutankhamun was among the few kings deified during his lifetime. He began constructing a royal tomb in the Valley of the Kings and a mortuary temple, but both were unfinished when he passed away.

Tutankhamun died unexpectedly at around 18 years old, sparking debates about his health and the cause of his death. In 2012, it was proposed that he succumbed to a combination of malaria and a leg fracture. Due to his incomplete royal tomb, he was laid to rest in a small non-royal tomb repurposed for his burial. He was succeeded by his vizier Ay, who was later followed by Horemheb, Tutankhamun's commander-in-chief. Under Horemheb's rule, the restoration of the traditional ancient Egyptian religion was finalized, completing the work started by Ay and Tutankhamun.
