The Aifnir Giant Shaman was once a healer and prophet for the noble clan. He has since succumb to a dark eldtritch entity that has twisted his mind with corrupt magics. He expends life force to attempt to exert control over the other giants in the clan, forcing his will upon them and eventually driving them mad. The chieftain has withstood his corrupting influence thus far, but for how long is unknown. The Shaman is merely a puppet for a darker force behind the growing corruption that is spreading across the land.
