Aldebaran (アルデバラン), commonly known as Al (アル), is a former member of the Priscilla Camp who played the role of Priscilla Barielle's knight. Though only having supporting roles in Arc 3 and Arc 5, he is a major character in Arc 7 and Arc 8, and the primary antagonist of Arc 9. He also played a major supporting role in The Tale of the Scarlet Princess. Introduced as Priscilla's knight, it is quickly revealed that there is more to him than at first glance, following the revelation that he was supposedly summoned to this world from Japan roughly 18 years prior to Subaru's own summoning. Throughout the series, he is gradually shown to have a level of precursory foreknowledge and familiarity with the Royal Selection participants, the Witch Cult, the Witches of Sin, and particularly Subaru himself.
