I purchased this model in May of 2024, but just got around to printing it in January of 2025. On the surface, it’s a nice model. It’s fairly solid, the size looks right, and most of the pieces fit together very nicely. There are no instructions on how to assemble it, but if you have a photo of the piece nearby, it’s pretty easy to figure out. However, there are a few issues I have with it that keep it from being a totally positive purchase. First is the “M8” on the side, Every photo of the physical piece shows it in the correct orientation, but on the left side, it’s mirrored. You can see this in the photo of the files, but I guess I chalked it up to accidently mirroring the image before it was uploaded. Nope, on the right side it’s correct, and on the left side, it’s mirrored. Which leads me to my second issue, which is why are the things like the M8, Assembly, and all those words that are supposed to be labels actually modeled into the piece? I’m going to have to take some time to remove them and fill the spaces so I can put correct labels on them. Finally, one of the large body pieces was cut straight down the middle, from top to bottom. I can understand why, because this way they can be printed flat, but there is no way to easily align the two large, flat pieces to glue together. One or two registration holes for dowel rods or 3D printed pegs would help so much in making sure the two parts go together correctly, and have a bit more stability. I do enjoy the piece, and I know 3D-printed props always take some extra work, but these are all issues that don’t make sense to me and detract from the piece. I wanted to make sure these were things you knew if you were looking at buying this.
