The model is subdivided to provide an organic aesthetic and soften the sharply angled corners. This unique appearance lends itself to a greater degree of visual complexity, resulting in a faux Voronoi styling. The object would make for a pleasing ornament of some kind, or perhaps a unique fidget toy if printed in flexible material.
