DESCRIPTION

Modular railway track kit, standard gauge (1435 mm): two straights, two R200 curves, left and right turnouts and a buffer stop. Each piece is one welded solid with rails, concrete sleepers, fasteners and a gravel ballast bed, plus snap empties at the ends so pieces connect exactly.

Highlights

  • 7 pieces, each ONE welded manifold solid
  • Flat-bottom rails, concrete sleepers, base plates and clips, gravel ballast bed
  • Snap empties at both ends (and at the diverging end of turnouts)
  • Left and right turnouts: switch area, stretcher bars, point-machine box, cast frog
  • Buffer stop with hydraulic buffers and warning plate
  • Works with the passenger coaches, the freight models and the stations of this series

Technical details

  • 143,946 polygons (143,946 triangles + 0 quads, no n-gons) = 143,946 triangles, 70,609 vertices, 7 welded shells
  • Mesh checked with exact triangle tests: 0 self-intersections, 0 z-fighting, 0 non-manifold edges, 0 degenerate triangles
  • 1 non-overlapping UV atlas inside 0-1 (worst overlap 0.00% of covered texels)
  • 4096 x 4096 PNG maps: Base Color, Roughness, Metallic, Clear-coat, Normal (OpenGL), AO and packed ORM
  • Formats: BLEND (Blender 5.x scene), FBX, glTF 2.0 GLB, OBJ + MTL, USD / USDZ
  • Two texture looks: the weathered set (default) and a separate CLEAN variant (new, unweathered paint) - same UV layout, own FBX / GLB / BLEND and 4096 px maps
  • Real-world scale, 1 unit = 1 m, Z up, rail head at z = 0 (1435 mm gauge). Original design, fictional names and lettering, no real railway brand or logo

Good to know

  • The mesh is a mix of triangles and quads (no n-gons) produced by exact boolean welding, so some sliver triangles exist. Shading, UVs and silhouette are clean; it is a render / game-ready mesh, not clean quad-flow topology for subdivision or deformation.
  • Real-world scale, 1 unit = 1 m, Z up, rail head at z = 0, 1435 mm gauge. Lettering and numbers are fictional; no real brand or logo.
  • Tested in Blender 5.2 (Cycles). FBX / glTF / OBJ / USD were exported from the same scene; not individually tested in Unreal / Unity.
  • The diverging route of the turnouts is a simplified frog / switch representation (no movable blades).
  • Sleepers in the turnouts are perpendicular to the main route (not fanned).

FBX
This FBX file has successfully passed the CGT Standard technical and visual checks. The verification results are detailed in the section below.

No unsupported objects
Unsupported objects:
- Lights
- Cameras
Learn more
Geometry
No N-gons
N-gons are polygons with five or more sides which might cause issues in certain processes like rendering or animation. Learn more
No faceted geometry
Faceted geometry uses flat surfaces without smoothing, which can look unrealistic on curves.
Learn more
Manifold geometry
Manifold geometry ensures all surfaces are properly connected, avoiding issues like edges shared by more than two faces.

Textures & material
PBR textures
PBR textures simulate how light interacts with materials, making the model look realistic under different lighting.
Required PBR textures:
- Base Color
- Roughness
- Metalness
- Normal
Learn more
No embed textures
Embedded textures are stored inside the model file, increasing its size and sometimes causing compatibility issues.
Learn more
Square textures
Texture aspect ratio is the width-to-height ratio of a texture. Expected texture aspect ratio: 1:1
Learn more
Power of 2 texture sizes
Textures with dimensions in power of two (e.g. 512x512px, 1024x1024px) are used to optimize performance and memory usage.
Learn more
Assigned materials
Materials are applied to the 3D model to allow visualize a model's surface properties and appearance.
Learn more
UVs & naming
No UV overlaps
UVs overlap when multiple points on the 3D model's surface are mapped to the same point on the UV island causing texture stretching.
Learn more
UV unwrapped model
A UV unwrapped model means its 3D surface is flattened into 2D space, allowing textures to be applied accurately.
