The 5000 Armenian Dram (AMD) banknote is a denomination of the official currency of Armenia, issued by the Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia. In the modern third series introduced from 2018 onward, the note features a portrait of William Saroyan (1908–1981) — a celebrated Armenian-American writer and Pulitzer Prize–winning novelist — on the obverse, with imagery on the reverse including a statue of Saroyan in Yerevan and elements referencing his literary works and heritage. The design celebrates Armenian culture and literature and incorporates contemporary security features and a hybrid substrate for durability.
