Cereus peruvianus ‘Florida’ is also known as the night blooming cactus.
Native to Brazil and Argentina, although they are commonly grown in Florida (hence the name), they are unusual succulent cacti and the fruit is edible raw.
It is a member of the same family as the dragon fruit.
Cereus flowers that bloom at night are almost always white or very pale. They are also usually fragrant.
Flowers (in the wild) appear after dark and last only one night.
Cacti grown as houseplants may not reach a size at which they are ready to produce flowers.
