Name: Pseudoctenis Eathiensis
Period: Permian to Cretaceous. 298.9 to 66 million years ago.
This Variation: This is a Low Poly model. A High Poly version is also available.
Notes: This plant is an early form of cycad which appeared at the beginning of the Permian period (298.9 million years ago) and lasted all the way through the dinosaur period, going extinct towards the end of the Cretaceous period (66 million years). This means the species survived multiple extinction level events. It had many similarities with modern cycads, differing mainly on a microscopic biological level. Like modern cycads it was dioecious, meaning male and female cones appeared on separate plants.
