Calamagrostis Acutiflora: Feather Reed Grass Calamagrostis Acutiflora, native to Europe nd Asia, is a popular ornamental grass that rises from 18-36 inches tall, with feathery purple plumes on stems that can rise up to 5ft high. The plumes appear in early summer, and remain attractive through most of the cold season. Small grains are hidden within the upper portions of the narrow fruiting stalks, and it requires little maintenance, flourishing in most temperate climates.
