According to Islamic tradition, the sword was bestowed upon Ali by Muhammad during the Battle of the Trench (Khandaq), when the Muslim forces were vastly outnumbered by Abu Sufyan’s army. The sword was considered a divine gift, sent through the angel Jibril (Gabriel), to aid Ali in defending the Muslim community and achieving victory in the battle. it is also very close to every muslim heart....
