Description

MG 42 (the abbreviation from German Maschinengewehr, which literally translates as mechanical rifle) is a general purpose machine gun caliber 7.92 mm Mauser, developed in Nazi Germany, and adopted by the Wehrmacht in 1942.

He added, in some cases replaced, a general-purpose machine gun MG 34 in all branches of the German armed forces, although both guns continued to produce and use before the end of the war.

MG 42 is known for its reliability, durability, simplicity and ease of use, but its main feature - this rate. MG 42 has one of the highest rates of fire for a single-speed portable machine guns - from 1200 to 1500 rounds per minute, while there is an impressive muzzle flash.
