Viking round Shield Low-poly 3D model

This is a typical viking round shield. It is built from wooden planks, has a round, hollow boss made from steel, a rim made out of raw hide, which is sewn through the planks to reinforce the shield. glued to the front side is a layer of linen cloth, which also reinforces the shield and prevents the planks from splintering. The boss and the wooden handle are held in place by iron rivets, the handle is wrapet by leather. This sort of shield is not fastened to the lower arm, it is only held by the handle, so it can swing and deflect blows.
