The Syzygy Room Divider is a modern architectural folding screen inspired by the astronomical phenomenon of syzygy, meaning the straight-line configuration of three celestial bodies in a gravitational system, I first got to know about this while reading the Three Body Problem book, one of my favourites.
Designed with a fusion of traditional Asian Shoji latticework and contemporary dark wood finishing, this 3-panel divider features metallic orbital inserts arranged in an ascending alignment across the panels. It is perfect for modern interior renders, luxury residential spaces, minimalist apartments, and sci-fi-inspired environments.
I really loved first imagining this piece, drawing it in several variations and then modelling it, and it was a lot of fun! Please let me know if you would like any other celestial phenomenon inspired pieces!
Key Features:
Clean, production-ready 3D mesh (clean topology, no unnecessary geometry).
Detailed dark wood texture paired with reflective metallic accents on the orbital spheres.
Realistic metal hinges connecting the three folding panels.
Ideal for archviz projects, interior rendering, and virtual staging.
