Settings and Manufacturing Instructions:
Open the RLF file in ArtCAM 2018.Check the model dimensions before machining. The preview size is approximately 2100 × 120 mm, but the design can be scaled to fit your project.Check the relief depth before creating toolpaths. Some designs are prepared around 10 mm relief depth, and some around 30 mm relief depth. Adjust the Z height if needed.Choose the material according to the final use: MDF, hardwood, softwood, gypsum board, plaster, foam, resin, or similar CNC-compatible material.Set the material thickness higher than the relief depth for safe machining.Use a roughing toolpath first to remove excess material.Use a finishing toolpath with a ball nose cutter for clean relief details.Recommended tools depend on the final size, but common options are:Roughing: 6 mm or 8 mm end millFinishing: 3 mm, 2 mm, or smaller ball nose cutter for fine detailsUse smaller tools for highly detailed floral and scroll designs.Always run a simulation in ArtCAM before machining.Secure the material properly on the CNC bed before cutting.Test the design on a small sample piece before full production.Sand and finish the carved piece after machining if used for wood or MDF.For gypsum or plaster production, the design can be used as a master relief, mold, or decorative panel reference depending on your manufacturing workflow.
