The Cherner family is proud to return to the production of the famous Cherner armchair. Designed by Norman Cherner for Plycraft in 1958, this chair can be found in designer collections around the world, including the Vitra Design Museum.
The Cherner chair is still considered one of the most striking designs created using plywood molding technology. As with the 1958 original, the Cherner stool uses a molded beech plywood seat with a unique graded thickness laminated plywood construction and beech or walnut cladding. The seat and backrest are designed using a single shell connected by a thin and durable neckline with thin laminated legs. Each chair is manufactured to original drawings, shapes and specifications by Cherner Chair, a Cherner family business led by the designer's sons.
