The stone of El Peñol - Guatapé, is a monolith of 220 meters (722 feet) high located in the middle of the Peñol - Guatapé reservoir for hydraulic energy (560 MW), municipality of Guatapé (Antioquia, Colombia). It is composed of quartz, feldspar and mica. It was first climbed on 1954 by an inhabitant of the area. It is possible to access its summit by climbing 740 stairway steps built on one side of the monolith.
