DESCRIPTION

The Santa Marta dolmen or Dolmen da Portela or Forno dos Mouros , is a Portuguese megalithic monument located in Santa Marta , Penafiel , in the district of Porto . It is represented in the coat of arms of the parish.

The archaeologists estimate that this anta comprising seven struts and a slab top with about 3.3 meters of 2.1 meters, has been constructed in the third millennium BC . It had a corridor about 6 meters long and 2.5 meters wide, of which there are only ten pillars.

It has been assigned the status of a National Monument in 1910 by IPPAR (Decree 16 of June of 1910 , DG 136, of 23 of June of 1910 ).
