Meet Cyber-Furry!
Current Version: v1.0
More updates and features are coming in the near future.
Short: Game ready , rigged (arp), lowpoly , middlepoly , substance file.spp , PRB textures , baked maps, unitypackage, 34k tris counts.
This model was originally created for Blender animations and video projects, and was later adapted for VRChat.
A quick note before you jump in: This model is aimed at users who are already comfortable with Blender and have general 3D experience. Please keep that in mind before purchasing.
What’s inside the Blender folder:
Metal Furry Final: The fully rigged 3D character intended for animation work.
FBX Final for Unity: The same model with an armature, ready to be imported directly into Unity.
Base for Baking: A hard-surface mid-poly version with good shading, along with a low-poly version (36,682 triangles). This is useful if you want to bake the model yourself (I personally recommend using Marmoset for this).
Rigging:
I used Auto Rig Pro
The project includes rig_tools, so you can use the rig layers even if you don’t have Auto Rig Pro installed.
The character features a standard body rig, plus eyes, ears, and jaw.
No blend shapes are included (yet).
Textures:
Materials: The model uses two materials with 4K textures.
Maps: You’ll get Albedo, Emissive, and Normal maps, plus a separate eye Albedo (which also functions as an emissive map).
Substance Painter: I’ve included the Substance Painter file and a full set of baked maps (AO, Curvature, Material ID, Normal, Position, Thickness ) 8K .PSD in case you want to paint or customize the character. (Warning: I used 8K textures in this project, so the model's performance may be poor. Please downscale them to 2K on your own.)
Lighting: The scene uses the Studio Tomoko HDR from Substance Painter to highlight the materials.
Model is set up with Poiyomi Shader, utilizing a pulsing animation on the emission map
VRChat & Unity:
I’m relatively new to VRChat and am still learning certain systems (like facial expressions and blend shapes), but this model provides a solid base for your own projects and experimentation.
Unity Version: Tested in 2022.3.22f1.
Performance: Medium rating (almost best. will be fixed soon).
PhysBones: Pre-configured for the tail and ears.
Creator Companion Tools used: VRChat Package Resolver, VRChat SDK (Base & Avatars), VRCFury, Av3Emulator, and Avatars 3.0 Manager.
Setup for Beginners: If you’re new to Unity, use the provided .unitypackage file. The import process is very straightforward, and you can find many simple tutorials on YouTube to guide you.
I hope you find this project useful!
