On April 21, 1211, Bishop Pedro Muiz solemnly consecrated the Romanesque cathedral dedicated to the Apostle Santiago. The best master stonemasons picked up the artistic influences of Europe and shaped them on stone. Architecture and sculpture reached a perfect symbiosis of firmness and lightness, power and beauty, in a wonder of glory made of stone. A colossal task that shaped one of the highest artistic creations of universal civilization.
