This highly detailed 3D Tardigrade (Water Bear) model is based on the distinctive anatomy of one of nature's most remarkable microscopic organisms. The model captures the characteristic segmented body, telescopic limbs, curved claws, wrinkled skin folds, and circular feeding apparatus with a strong focus on biological accuracy and visual realism.
The mesh has been carefully sculpted to reproduce the soft, flexible appearance of a living tardigrade while maintaining clean geometry suitable for rendering, animation, scientific visualization, and educational projects. Fine surface details and subtle anatomical features make the model suitable for close-up renders and macro-scale presentations.
The model includes a functional skeletal rig created in 3ds Max. It is fully skinned and weighted to a bone structure, allowing posing and animation of the body and limbs. The rig is bone-based and does not include a complete animation control system, helper objects, custom controllers, or advanced animator-friendly GUI controls. This makes it ideal for artists and technical users who prefer to build their own animation setup while benefiting from an already weighted and articulated model.
Suitable applications include scientific visualization, biological education, museum exhibits, documentaries, medical and research presentations, animation projects, VFX work, game development, and creature collections.
