DESCRIPTION

The Navion is a United States single-engine, unpressurized, retractable gear, four-seat aircraft originally designed and built by North American Aviation in the 1940s. It was later built by Ryan Aeronautical Company and the Tubular Steel Corporation (TUSCO). The Navion was envisioned as an aircraft that would perfectly match the expected postwar boom in civilian aviation, since it was designed along the general lines of, and by the same company which produced the North American P-51 Mustang, generally regarded as one of the best Allied fighter aircraft. I've been searching for a decent replica of my late uncle's plane, a Ryan Navion, for months. His granddaughter who was only a week old when she first flew in the craft will be turning 50 in July. I got the notion to create some digital art featuring her grandfather's plane and I've been searching ever since. Except for the paint job, this mesh is almost "dead on"! You did remarkable work upon it and the .Blend format converted very cleanly to .OBJ format. Thank you for sharing this model! Sincerely, Bill
