About Tamagotchi
Tamagotchi is a handheld digital pet created in Japan by Akihiro Yokoi of WiZ and Aki Maita of Bandai. First released in 1996, the Tamagotchi quickly became a worldwide phenomenon and a cultural icon of the late 1990s and early 2000s. It features a small, egg-shaped device with a screen where users can interact with a virtual pet by feeding it, playing games, cleaning up after it, and caring for its health. The name Tamagotchi is derived from the Japanese words tamago (egg) and watchi (a stylized form of watch).
