Refund by default on 3D model.

Discussion started by d3dkreatos

Hi.

I bought the model based on the images, but when it was printed, part of the model was defective, I checked the 3D model to make sure that the error is not mine and unfortunately the model is defective.

For refund contact support via support@cgtrader.com , there is no refund by default because in order to get refund cgtrader stuff must check files first in order to confirm your claim. There is no reason to write on the forum about this, and since you do you should show some screenshots of the problem so that people here can see what's what.

This is something that should be discussed between you, designer (seller) and support@cgtrader.com
Forum can't help you a lot on that matter.

What do you exactly mean by "Refund by default"?

You should have documented proof that the model is not printable. Just because there are some errors in an STL, it doesn't always make them unprintable and just because you claim the model isn't printable, it doesn't mean it isn't. However, sometime errors do creep in in creating the STL. Also, the problem could be on your side. As other members have suggested, contact the artist and let them know of the problem first. Perhaps they can rectify it quickly. If that doesn't work, then contact support@cgtrader.com.

Thank you all, it's nice to see how they defend a modeler with nails and teeth, before sending a message here on the forum I got in touch with the modeler and I didn't get any response, and it's not on my side the error I have the images all detailed and that's it I bought the model to print a single object and just what was wanted is defective. I have already sent an email to support.

Where did you saw that anyone defended the modeler ? Obviously you are not familiar with how things goes around here, when you decide to accuse someone for something on the forum you have to proove it, anyone can claim anything, there is a lot of scammers/thieves who are trying to get models for free via refund offering all sorts of excuses. You came here on the forum (for wich there were no need at all) accusing someone that sold you "bad" product, without any proof or anything and a top of that you asked for "refund by default" which can be interpreted in many ways, one of wich is "why this person would like to bypass cgt refund system asking for refund by default ?".

The algorithm for solving the problem was described above - contact the seller, then contact the support.
If that didn't help and you are publicly accused that the seller has a low-quality model - d3dkreatos, please give proof - picture of the defective part and the problem area in the mesh. Maybe the community will give you useful advice or confirm a model defect. In any case, we need evidence.

I don't think anyone is defending the artist, just giving you the proper etiquette to get this solved for both you and the artist. Most of us are on the side of 'good business practices'. If member artists upload faulty models, and customers download them, it harms the industry because if it happens often enough, word gets around that the models on CGTrader may not be printable. We also support the artists, because we are on a constant battle with our work getting stolen, shared and resold without compensation. Also, customers who may not have the proper software/hardware to print the models correctly complain about their downloads not working, also comes into play.

If you had a business, and someone went online and besmirched your name and product without consulting you first, you would be quite upset too. This is a digital business. Anything can happen with file transfer, storage, file compression/decompression and so forth. I hope that you gave enough time for the artist to reply to your query. Sending an email and not getting a response in an hour, doesn't give enough time for the artist to respond. The artists and customers on this site are global, so give at least 48 hours for the artist to respond. I'm certain that CGTrader support will contact the artist in an attempt to resolve the problem anyway.

That being said, I hope you come to an equitable solution and you get this problem fixed.
