Marmomset Preview and steal 3d models doubt
I have seen that in sketchfab, people can steal 3d characters. People can rip the files from the 3d viewer
With the marmoset viewer in cgtrader can the same thing happen?
Everything can be hacked eventually, but I would say most professional people just want a legit license for commercial uses and they do not get involved with spending time to find information on how to hack/rip 3D models.
However, if the information to do so gets popular (ranking somewhere in first 3 pages in Google) and the procedure is simple, then it probably becomes a problem.
For now things seem to be ok I would say.
It's possible but very hard. Because the marmoset is packed in a special format and I think, also on sketchfab, they took certain measures against such things, especially since they have now started the 3d sale
I wondered about this myself, but do they extract a .fbx or .obj model from the viewer file? Or do they '3d scan' the model, by screencapping the preview? In the second case a watermarked normalfile should solve it, but that kind of ruins the preview.
Sketchfab has taken a lot of measures to keep models from being ripped, like compressing files, banning IP addresses etc. Are there measures in place by CGtrader to keep models from being ripped (from Marmoset viewer files)?
Thanks for your comments Guys!
