Uploading 3D Models to CGT

For anyone that's wondering how to get a reasonable model score when uploading to CGT;

Feel free to like it :D I started a new channel and it's pretty much the first video.

Looks good. For most people, the main problem will be the ability to provide that many exchange file formats. Especially if the model is 3d printable, intended to be STL or whatever. When it comes to 3d printing, in addition to the obvious STL file format, I'd highly recommend offering a native file format of the object from whatever software package you created it. IE., if it's Zbrush, then offer at least the ZTL file, then also an FBX and OBJ version of the STL if possible. If you have at least 3 exchange formats, and then provide everything else you've outlined in your video, it should be enough to get the score in the green.

I just danced around the 3D Printing side of things because I don't feel like I know enough about the subject to give advice on it. Although, I am considering grabbing myself a printer to learn a little more on that side of things. I also should have mentioned the types of preview files you should use which I was annoyed about after uploading.

No worries. You laid out a great plan there and I'm going to refer to that video anytime someone asks about getting a better model score. Like you said, the main thing is the number of exchange formats and previews. 3d printable assets can be more difficult to achieve the necessary number of file formats to get the score above 7.1, but it's still possible to do in some cases, depending on the polygon density of the model, etc. I wish there was a way to get a better score on things like Zbrush tools or addons, but that's another story.
