I never see any difference in sales amounts whether I opt-in or out lol.
CGT seems to do a lot of sales, more than any other site I've seen, and it seems there is another one coming to celebrate 1M models on site.
I'm wondering how people are taking to this. Are sales good for business? More Sales? More income? And more importantly, if I opt out, will that drive my customers to other sellers that have decided to discount?
My sales on this site are far too few to make any judgement one way or the other, so I'm interested in other people's experience.

I see 1 main problem with sales off - including VAT the prices of CGT models will be higher then TS models for EU customers which is paradox situation.
Just before last Black Friday I decided to opt out all sales/discounts for 1 year to see what would be effect. Now 5 months in I can already see no drop in sales and obvious increase in my revenue. I'm starting to realize now how many revenue I trowed out of the window all this time. Don't know how opting out sales would play out for people having models in competing categories but in my case I can see my clients don't care about the price, they just buy my models regardless of them being on discount or not.
As a seller who actually did several long term experiments with discounts ON and OFF, i can tell that sales-offs, permanent discounts, loyalty programs and similar measures are not beneficial to me. If there is slight increase in sale numbers when offering discounted models, it is not enough to offset losses due to lower prices. I have better net income without offering discounts. Anyway, does discounts means anything on cgtrader anymore, when you see discounted models everywhere, all year long? I get usual amount of sales during big sale-off events, despite the fact that my prices might look unattractive comparred to other models with 50% discounts. If someone needs the models and quality that i offer, they are buying it, as long as the price is reasonable. On the other hand, if someone only looks for discounted assets, then maybe i don't need such customer?
For me last big sale (black Friday) was totally fucked up despite of my participation. And since end of previous year I decided to not participate in sale off furthermore. Mystically after this decision I got very good sales growth in January and February and waterfall like views and sales dropping in Marth.
There are many customers who actually wait for for a sale to make a purchase on items they want but don't actually need immediately. Participation should never hurt your sales. You can choose the percentages you wish to use for discounts in most cases. So as long as you don't undervalue your products to begin with by pricing them so low you need to sell 10 of them to make the minimum payout, then discounts and sales like this can help.
Also, sorry I meant to say in the original post...
I've only ever sold one item at full price, the rest have always been part of a sale, or had loyalty discounts applied to it. I've adjusted my pricing to take this into account. And yes, I realise that I can instead opt out of these programs if I wish
