How often do you sell your models?

Something like that yes mate. And no, it doesn't mean a single sale at all. There maybe one dev that's louder than the others, that doesn't mean the others don't read, see or buy your stuff.
Yes mate, I think you are indeed looking at the wrong groups. The game-dev groups tend to be very busy places and it's not a case of actually posting your models, it's a case of just posting replies and dropping in that you do make models, eventually, you will be asked and then you go full metal jacket on them :D
Twitter is the best place because there are actual bots that will repost your tweets for you if you include certain hashtags such as #3d, #model and those will be shown to everyone else that follows the bot (almost all are game-devs).
Merry Christmas first of all! I did consider making a "list" on my blog of how I sell my models and what methods I use to determine what to make (if they hadn't been requested separately). I may just do that after the Christmas madness is over.
I spend around an hour sorting a model out after I have finished it as I upload to several platforms and then I like to "advertise" said model on many more. Facebook, Twitter, Blog, website, Discord, Reddit groups, Steam groups and a few other forums etc. This has been quite successful. It all boils down to how much time and effort you put into it just like anything else.
I haven't bothered doing the freelance thing here because I usually have projects to complete already and I really don't want to get stuck having to make furniture and things I don't particularly enjoy modelling, but if you're just here for the money then may I suggest you give that a go?
Oh may, I wish I was at art school lol. I left any kind of school almost 40 years ago haha. What I wouldn't give to be back there :D
I figured you had seen them in analytics as a good keyword and decided to make a bunch. I find that looking at the subject with the least popular keywords and then making those models is better. If they're too popular (like characters~) you find that there are so many models for that subject that yours just gets lost. Making a model where there are only 10 of that thing gives you a chance for people to see yours.
Ah, sorry. Had a terrible neck for a few days so I didn't see your question. I find medieval models sell the best for me.
@mantas; Skulls! May I ask if you made skulls because they're there in the analytics?
for some time graves where going well, some shrooms go better, some walls.. surprisingly i sold only one skull for now :( either iam doing smth horribly wrong, or my subjects / polycount is not in demand. but i also dont get lots of views, so might be its just people dont find my models, but then again i add as mush of keywords / descriptions as i can, so no idea... why and what stuff sells or dont and why :(
unfortunately a few (~2-5) models a moth. That's a bad result i guess. some months 0 some more.
From none to only 22 models monthly. Last 2 months (november and december) - 9. So it's even not "passive income".
Steam is a good source for that, also having lots of game-devs on your Twitter feed and join a few game-dev facebook groups as well. I rarely post in them but I do check what people are currently making every day.
It's quite random, I've sold 2 or 3 in one day sometimes and then not sold anything for 3 or 4 days. I guess it's all about what you're selling and what people want right now. Keeping an eye on the game types that are currently in development is a good way to ensure you're trying to sell the right things, at the right time.
