Does 3d-models work in Rhino with V-Ray?

Discussion started by studioeika

Hi

I have bought some trees and plants from cgtrader, but when i open the files in Rhino, the textures does not apply.

I can see there is a lot of files in the packages i have bought, but i don't know how to use them in Rhino.

I have used other 3d models in Rhino before where the textures were applied automatically, and i also thought that would happen with the 3d files here on cgtrader.

Is it possible to use the files in Rhino with Vray, and how do i apply the materials/textures that where in the package?

Hope someone can help, because i spend a lot of money, on models i can nor use right now:(

Thanks

Emil

You should contact the seller and let them know.

Unfortunately not everyone who sells models understands how to export objects with embedded textures so they leave it to the buyer.

It should be in the description for the model you purchased on how to do these things, if its not then Its something to raise with the artist and then if not resolution raise with CGTrader support.

Thanks for your answer, 3DCergo. And if the seller will not do not, is it then possible to pay someone here in forum to do it?

Absolutely, there is a freelance section on the site where you can ask for paid services from artists. If the textures are provided (in zip file or equivalent) it should be a very simple job. However for Vray/Rhino specifically you will need someone who uses that software if you want it done properly. If its PBR model it should be simple to do from your end since all you need to do is put the textures in the assigned Slots - Diffuse, Roughness, Normal/Bump and it should be good to go.
