Best 3D Models of February

Insight
Featured post

The whole February new uploads from old and new members of our design community were flowing like a stirring stream in early spring. Two days ago we just hit a pulsing boundary of 10'000 models. Everything is getting better and better: our 3D model collection is renewed with a variety of fresh ideas.

Surprisingly, the most popular shape of February was not a heart. Actually, there were just a few Valentine-related models. But this is another topic. Today CGTrader team has a piping-hot top of the Best 3D Models of February for you. All of them are different in terms of realism, particularity, techniques, and inspirations. This is the reason why they are on the list.

Lion

Best 3D Models of February 1

Lion is always a symbol of the king among animals. This one looks exactly like that: royal. Texture, expression, stance, details: everything pulses from within. The new author Norbert-2105 managed to design a realistic model of this mammal. It is ready for appearing in any cartoon. Also it gives an impression that the lion stands away, observes and searches for a juicy prey. There is a soft wind of savannah... Damn, I heard too many fairy tales about jungle when I was a child.

Wobble Chess Set

Best 3D Models of February 2

A game of chess is never-dying. I guess even after 100 years pass by, there still will be a great dozen of fanatics. Chess moved into 3D and unfortunately is impossible to be played. This set is modeled by designer Pumper. The author has a huge gallery of his artwork on CGTrader and it obviously reveals his delicacy in design. This model possesses 33 objects, including modern and unusual chessmen and a chessboard. Instead of a flat one, this one is full of sockets, making round-bottom figures swing after each move. A model could lack a particularity in texturizing, but it is definitely creative. This design is worth for a checkmate.

Black American Football Player

Best 3D Models of February 3

Football. Football. It grabs a heart and even inspires an artist to design a player of that game. A character of this model plants a position which is not that easy to be caught using a photocamera. Our well-known designer codethislab gave a knockout again. This model is a part of an expansion pack which includes players modelated with 5 separate facial morphs, body stances and clothes of different teams. It is visible that the author is aware of human anatomy and proportions. That provides a high level of realism to this model. Hey! Catch a ball!

Chinese Pot

Best 3D Models of February 4

There was a flow of Orient last month. It included sculptures of Buddha, vases, pots, samurai swords, and other specific models. This design by dht0005 reveals clear understanding of Orient culture. It unfolds through figures on the pot, used textures, symbols, and materials. The author uploaded lots of models, concerning far Eastern culture. But this one is distinct from others: it is made extremely carefully, following the knowledge and adapting suitable techniques of modeling.

Bathroom Interior

Best 3D Models of February 5

Photorealism of this model has definitely bribed us to include it in the top. Russian artist RTE designed a wish-to-have bathroom, using compulsive colours and suitable composition. Reflection in the mirror obviously played its part convincing us to announce it as one of the best models of the month. This scene is full of appropriate shading and lighting, rational amount of reflections, highly detailed textures, and inspiration to clean your own bathroom.

Iron Baby

Best 3D Models of February 6

3D model of Iron Baby appeared in a short video that went viral in May of 2010. It was a parody of "Iron Man" with visual effects created by our designer Strob. A goal of this video was to rival the work done for a movie "Iron Man". The short-movie had 14 million of views on Youtube. This expansion pack includes not only this model, but also reveals the whole process of how "Iron Baby" video was created. If you are quite crazy about sci-fi, robots and transformers, you must check it out.

Watch Mechanism

Best 3D Models of February 7

Our Italian designer fabelar can model almost everything. Watch mechanism seems extremely interesting, especially when you can see all the smallest parts of its engine. A profession of watchman was always related to magic for me. You can stop the time and launch it again over and over. This 3D design was modeled on real wristwatch reference images. But the author must have had quite thorough time putting each tiny cog to the right place in mechanism's puzzle.

Egyptian Collection

Best 3D Models of February 8

Here is a collection of various Egyptian sculptures which were typical for that civilization. The designer aiji is passionate about creating 3D sculptures and models of must-visit places as well as bringing the ancient art to the modern life. This is the reality of 3D. A work provides several scenes with Egyptian mythological figures and highly detailed, well-done separate sculptures of deities. It would be worthwhile, I guess, to model the great piramyds and move them into the digital heritage databases in order not just to keep them as a nice memory if they oliterate one day.

Ford LTD 1971

Best 3D Models of February 9

Vintage cars will never get outdated. I am pretty sure that a factor of nostalgia always helps to sell anything. CGTrader's designer arkviz is surely obsessed with modeling cars. Old ones, new ones, luxurious and cheap, police cars or a joy for road devils: everything goes. This one looks hyper-realistic, surrounded by appropriate background and perfectly reflects the light of the early evening. A model of Ford LTD 1971 awakens the American Dream. To open windows, play good music and drive non-stop through the roads of USA...

Space Fighter

Best 3D Models of February 10

Probably only a few of us have ever seen a real spaceship of UFO. I guess actually none of us have seen that one. Fortunately, 3D computer graphics enable us to take a look at this unexplored world. I did not hear anything about new unidentified objects in the sky this month, but there were lots of futuristic flying saucers and spaceships uploaded to our marketplace. This one is made by the designer Sendercorp and is one out of his space-craft collection. This model has an unusual shape, colour and represents quite good knowledge of proportions as well. To create such model you definitely have to be an experienced player of such kind of games or to be kidnapped by aliens at least once a week.

This is our top 10 list of February. Hopefully you have found some ideas which could help you while working on present or future projects. Enjoy and be creative - it's spring time already!
