This is another entry to my 1000mm balsa conversion warbird series. The British Spitfire is a well known plane to any WW2 enthusiast and I've tried my best to do it justice here. Built in a similar strategy as my previous balsa to plastic conversions, using all 4mm thick spars and formers to keep it scale down ready to 60%. The smaller you go with these models the harder the supports are to remove, I am finding that supports are easy to remove using: Grid style, replace support with brim, 5% support density and add .5mm of distance from brim to part. This model comes complete with printed on hinges and control horns, but I have not yet included a canopy at the moment as I am currently working on a vaccum mold strategy to make them from clear PC packaging. At full size this model is right around 500 grams, using 1 wall, 2 bottom and 2 top layers on all frame pieces at .2mm layer height with 10% gyroid infill. If you do not use gyroid infill this model probably wont be strong enough, I highly reccomend this if you plan on making these planes RC. Hope you enjoy. :) Check out my other models as well. 2/11/2022: I've added the pieces in today with the built in 9g servo mounts in the wing end, and the rear fuse, along with the middle of fuse that has the battery and electronics platform if you are interested. These can only be printed full size as they are sized to hold the servos. If you plan on scaling down the old ones are better suited for this.

2/12/2022: Added the updated aileron with the control horn on the bottom for use with the servo mount end wing.

2/14/2022: When putting the full size tail together I found a few things I wanted to change. More clearance to the elevator hinges to allow them to swing better without having to file the rear tail section down. Another change to the elevator was the keyed section where they join. I have thinned that down a little bit to allow these pieces to mate easier, My key hole shrunk a bit during the print and I had to file the tab down in mine to get them to fit, this fix should address that. The rudder, I felt this piece needed a slightly longer horn for the ideal travel. Minor changes, but I Would use the new pieces If you havent printed the old ones already, these will save you time in assembly.
