The Schiavona is a sword worn by the Marshal's Guard of the Republic of Venice. The name Schiavona means Slav, referring to the fact that the Guard was composed of Slavs. The shape of the blade is almost similar to a broadsword. The basket-shaped brim that seems to wrap around the fist is attractive. The hilt end decoration, which resembles cat ears, has a quill pattern.
