Spinosaurus was a massive, semi-aquatic theropod dinosaur that lived during the Late Cretaceous period, around 99 to 93 million years ago. It is known for its distinctive sail-like structure on its back, formed by elongated neural spines, and its crocodile-like snout filled with conical teeth, adapted for catching fish. Measuring up to 15 meters (49 feet) in length, Spinosaurus was one of the largest carnivorous dinosaurs ever discovered. It likely lived in and around rivers and swamps, preying on aquatic animals like fish and small marine reptiles. Fossils of Spinosaurus have been found in North Africa, particularly in Egypt and Morocco, making it one of the most iconic and well-known dinosaurs.
