DESCRIPTION

Special delivery!

This truck is a generic rectangular mail truck that can be found in any American town delivering parcels and packages. Its angular shape guarantees the best efficiency when transporting large cardboard boxes of the same shape.

A cube with holes

This model is modeled to scale, meaning it will perfectly fit into your scene without any adjustment required. I have kept this truck low-poly since I have made the model specifically to run well in Unity.

To achieve a higher level of detail, I have added cracks, scratches, bolts, and trims to the model's normal texture.

So, import the truck into your game or use it in your 3D program of choice. Everything will work as intended in any application that supports the file formats this model comes in.

A drift bone?

If you choose to download the .blend file of this model, you will gain access to a special rig that makes use of Blender's many bone constraints and drivers. To create this rig, I have used digiCreatures free 'Rigacar' addon which allows you to easily manipulate body roll, steering, and suspensions. And yes, there is a special bone for drifting, too!

If you do not use Blender, a simple rig is provided.

Textures

This model comes with three texture-resolution options: 1k, 2k, and 4k PBR textures. Furthermore, you will find texture maps for the fictional company 'Send4U' but also a completely clean and unbranded set of textures. This way, you can customize the look of the truck, if you choose to do so.

  • 1k, 2k, and 4k PBR textures
  • OpenGL + DirectX normal maps
  • Baked ambient occlusion
  • 16bit PNG

Formats

  • .blend (Native)
  • .dae
  • .fbx
  • .gltf
  • obj

No unsupported objects
Unsupported objects:
- Lights
- Cameras
Learn more
Geometry
No N-gons
N-gons are polygons with five or more sides which might cause issues in certain processes like rendering or animation. Learn more
No faceted geometry
Faceted geometry uses flat surfaces without smoothing, which can look unrealistic on curves.
Learn more
Manifold geometry
Manifold geometry ensures all surfaces are properly connected, avoiding issues like edges shared by more than two faces.
Learn more
Textures & material
PBR textures
PBR textures simulate how light interacts with materials, making the model look realistic under different lighting.
Required PBR textures:
- Base Color
- Roughness
- Metalness
- Normal
Learn more
No embed textures
Embedded textures are stored inside the model file, increasing its size and sometimes causing compatibility issues.
Learn more
Square textures
Texture aspect ratio is the width-to-height ratio of a texture. Expected texture aspect ratio: 1:1
Learn more
Power of 2 texture sizes
Textures with dimensions in power of two (e.g. 512x512px, 1024x1024px) are used to optimize performance and memory usage.
Learn more
Assigned materials
Materials are applied to the 3D model to allow visualize a model's surface properties and appearance.
Learn more
UVs & naming
No UV overlaps
UVs overlap when multiple points on the 3D model's surface are mapped to the same point on the UV island causing texture stretching.
Learn more
UV unwrapped model
A UV unwrapped model means its 3D surface is flattened into 2D space, allowing textures to be applied accurately.
