Name: King Bolete

Scientific: Boletus edulis

This Variation: 4 of 4. This is a High Poly model. A Low Poly version is also available.

Notes: An edible mushroom that is held in high regard. This fungus grows in deciduous and coniferous forests and tree plantations, where it is maimly found in summer and autumn. It is a very large fungus and can be upward of 3kg. Like other boletes, the underside of the cap has pores, rather than gills. Widely distributed in the Northern Hemisphere across Europe, Asia, and North America, it does not occur naturally in the Southern Hemisphere, but it has been introduced to southern Africa, Australia, New Zealand, and Brazil.

  3. Dying -- 2,465 polygons, 2,776 vertices -- 27.84cm tall. Just hanging onto life.
  4. Old -- 1,983 polygons, 2,240 vertices -- 30.27cm tall. At its full growth, larger than normal.
  5. Young -- 1,153 polygons, 1,225 vertices -- 14.07cm tall. Smaller, some half way through its maturing cycle.
  6. Button -- 374 polygons, 388 vertices -- 4.8cm tall. Very small and young.
  7. Emerging -- 277 polygons, 287 vertices -- 2.2cm tall. Showing only the smallest part of the fruiting body as it emerges from the ground.
  8. Small Patch -- 6,490 polygons, 7,122 vertices -- 27.72cm tall. A small patch containg a few fungi.
  9. Medium Patch -- 13,091 polygons, 14,318 vertices -- 27.72cm tall. A medium patch with several fungi
  10. Large Patch -- 25,195 polygons, 27,779 vertices -- 27.72cm tall. A large patch with many fungi.
  11. Lower Poly -- 406 polygons, 424 vertices -- 27.59cm tall. Standard model with fewer polys to save system resources. Intended for mid or distant renders.
  12. Higher Poly -- 8,486 polygons, 9,324 vertices -- 27.72cm tall. Standard model with more polys for greater detail. Intended for close-up renders.

The textures included are mainly 4k (4096x4096); additional texture sizes of medium 2k, small 1k, and tiny <1k textures can also be downloaded. Separated alpha maps can be download as well.
