Name: King Bolete

Scientific: Boletus edulis

This Variation: 3 of 4. This is a High Poly model. A Low Poly version is also available.

Notes: An edible mushroom that is held in high regard. This fungus grows in deciduous and coniferous forests and tree plantations, where it is maimly found in summer and autumn. It is a very large fungus and can be upward of 3kg. Like other boletes, the underside of the cap has pores, rather than gills. Widely distributed in the Northern Hemisphere across Europe, Asia, and North America, it does not occur naturally in the Southern Hemisphere, but it has been introduced to southern Africa, Australia, New Zealand, and Brazil.

  4. Old -- 2,051 polygons, 2,240 vertices -- 23.22cm tall. At its full growth, larger than normal.
  5. Young -- 1,244 polygons, 1,307 vertices -- 10.44cm tall. Smaller, some half way through its maturing cycle.
  6. Button -- 535 polygons, 547 vertices -- 4.5cm tall. Very small and young.
  7. Emerging -- 325 polygons, 333 vertices -- 3.3cm tall. Showing only the smallest part of the fruiting body as it emerges from the ground.
  8. Small Patch -- 7,170 polygons, 7,973 vertices -- 24.53cm tall. A small patch containg a few fungi.
  9. Medium Patch -- 14,643 polygons, 16,297 vertices -- 24.53cm tall. A medium patch with several fungi
  10. Large Patch -- 27,803 polygons, 31,023 vertices -- 28.1cm tall. A large patch with many fungi.
  11. Lower Poly -- 486 polygons, 505 vertices -- 20.8cm tall. Standard model with fewer polys to save system resources. Intended for mid or distant renders.
  12. Higher Poly -- 9,360 polygons, 10,624 vertices -- 21.18cm tall. Standard model with more polys for greater detail. Intended for close-up renders.

The textures included are mainly 4k (4096x4096); additional texture sizes of medium 2k, small 1k, and tiny <1k textures can also be downloaded. Separated alpha maps can be download as well.
