Name: King Bolete

Scientific: Boletus edulis

This Variation: 2 of 4. This is a High Poly model. A Low Poly version is also available.

Notes: An edible mushroom that is held in high regard. This fungus grows in deciduous and coniferous forests and tree plantations, where it is maimly found in summer and autumn. It is a very large fungus and can be upward of 3kg. Like other boletes, the underside of the cap has pores, rather than gills. Widely distributed in the Northern Hemisphere across Europe, Asia, and North America, it does not occur naturally in the Southern Hemisphere, but it has been introduced to southern Africa, Australia, New Zealand, and Brazil.

  2. Unhealthy -- 5,199 polygons, 6,092 vertices -- 20.26cm tall. Relatively poor state with damage and diseased.
  3. Dying -- 9,642 polygons, 11,537 vertices -- 21.8cm tall. Just hanging onto life.
  4. Old -- 4,225 polygons, 4,866 vertices -- 22.12cm tall. At its full growth, larger than normal.
  5. Young -- 1,779 polygons, 1,938 vertices -- 10.64cm tall. Smaller, some half way through its maturing cycle.
  6. Button -- 748 polygons, 794 vertices -- 3.8cm tall. Very small and young.
  7. Emerging -- 324 polygons, 328 vertices -- 2.7cm tall. Showing only the smallest part of the fruiting body as it emerges from the ground.
  8. Small Patch -- 16,116 polygons, 18,204 vertices -- 28.46cm tall. A small patch containg a few fungi.
  9. Medium Patch -- 27,809 polygons, 31,176 vertices -- 28.46cm tall. A medium patch with several fungi
  10. Large Patch -- 46,758 polygons, 51,705 vertices -- 28.46cm tall. A large patch with many fungi.
  11. Lower Poly -- 693 polygons, 730 vertices -- 20.24cm tall. Standard model with fewer polys to save system resources. Intended for mid or distant renders.
  12. Higher Poly -- 32,250 polygons, 38,630 vertices -- 28.28cm tall. Standard model with more polys for greater detail. Intended for close-up renders.

Re-meshing and any reasonable modification available upon request. No charge to existing customers of the product.

The textures included are mainly 4k (4096x4096); additional texture sizes of medium 2k, small 1k, and tiny <1k textures can also be downloaded. Separated alpha maps can be download as well.
