The serie KV was a heavy tank production line of soviet origin. The tanks were named in honor to the defense commissar and politician Kliment vorolíshov, in the moment of the Soviet Union invasion, done by germany during the second world war. The KV-1 was the successor of the T-35 tanks, improving their firepower and protection. The tank was used for first time during the Winter war, and had a great performance against the finnish troops. During the second world war, the tank had a fundamental role in the soviet army, it gained the surename of “Nazi Killer”. During 1942 the improvements in the nazi armament did the KV-1 almost obsolet and finally its production stoped, to prioritize the T-34 production.
