DESCRIPTION

OVERVIEW

This package contains the two most common types of Spanners/Wrenches. Each Spanner has three materials: clean, used, and dirty, which makes it useful in many different environments.

CONTENT

You will find Open End Spanners and Combination Spanners in the product.

TECHNICAL DETAILS

All the Spanners are modeled with a Quad-based workflow so that they don't require any retopology or remeshing.

First number: Low resolution; Second number: Mid resolution; Third number: High resolution

  • Open End Spanner: 654; 2,610; 10,434 Vertices / 1,304; 5,216; 20,864 Polygons
  • Combination Spanner: 774; 3,098; 12,392 Vertices / 1,548; 6,196; 24,784 Polygons

In the low resolution, all 6 Spanners have a total count of 4,284 Vertices, which is 8,556 Polygons.

In the mid resolution, all 6 Spanners have a total count of 17,124 Vertices, which is 34,236 Polygons.

In the high resolution, all 6 Spanners have a total count of 68,478 Vertices, which is 136,944 Polygons.

TEXTURES

The textures were generated with Substance Painter and are given away in a 2K resolution of 2048 x 2048 px. The Base Color, Metallic, Roughness and Displacement textures are between 0.07 and 2 MB each and the Normal Maps between 0.8 and 1.3 MB. All the textures are about 7,7 MB and only used where needed.

FORMATS

The Models are available in the FBX and Blender Format.

USE AS FBX

If you use the spanner in the background, choose a low-resolution spanner and import it into your 3D-Software. Otherwise, if it is somewhere in the foreground, you should choose the mid-resolution spanner from the folder and import it. If the Camera gets in really close, choose the high-resolution spanner. In each case, the embedded textures should be recognized automatically.

If not, don't worry! We have included a PDF named Material_setup, there you find all the important information for recreating the materials in the PBR Metallic-Roughness Workflow.

No unsupported objects
Unsupported objects:
- Lights
- Cameras
Learn more
Geometry
No N-gons
N-gons are polygons with five or more sides which might cause issues in certain processes like rendering or animation. Learn more
No faceted geometry
Faceted geometry uses flat surfaces without smoothing, which can look unrealistic on curves.
Learn more
Manifold geometry
Manifold geometry ensures all surfaces are properly connected, avoiding issues like edges shared by more than two faces.

Textures & material
PBR textures
PBR textures simulate how light interacts with materials, making the model look realistic under different lighting.
Required PBR textures:
- Base Color
- Roughness
- Metalness
- Normal
Learn more
No embed textures
Embedded textures are stored inside the model file, increasing its size and sometimes causing compatibility issues.
Learn more
Square textures
Texture aspect ratio is the width-to-height ratio of a texture. Expected texture aspect ratio: 1:1
Learn more
Power of 2 texture sizes
Textures with dimensions in power of two (e.g. 512x512px, 1024x1024px) are used to optimize performance and memory usage.
Learn more
Assigned materials
Materials are applied to the 3D model to allow visualize a model's surface properties and appearance.
Learn more
UVs & naming
No UV overlaps
UVs overlap when multiple points on the 3D model's surface are mapped to the same point on the UV island causing texture stretching.
Learn more
UV unwrapped model
A UV unwrapped model means its 3D surface is flattened into 2D space, allowing textures to be applied accurately.
