The Ward Memorial Building is an approximately 280ft (85m) tall building in Chicago, Illinois. The building was designed by architect James Gamble Rogers in a dramatic Gothic Revival style. Construction of the building was funded by the family of the by-then late retail titan Aaron Montgomery Ward and completed in 1926. The Ward Memorial Building was unique in its day for being the first skyscraper designed to house educational facilities. Today, it is among the many buildings clustered in Streeterville that make up the Downtown campus of Northwestern University.
