The Ancient Fortress

The Ancient Fortress Free 3D model

Description

This 3D model was originally created with Sketchup 13 and then converted to all other 3D formats. Native format is .skp 3dsmax scene is 3ds Max 2016 version, rendered with Vray 3.00 A (fictional) couple found an old fortress on E-Bay. Fortunately they did not get sniped and they got it. What they found was a roofless shell. Some trusses and Stressskin panels took care of the roof problem. Old beams made floor supports. Since this was similar to Barcaldine Castle in Argyll (wherever that is), they had an example to follow. Kept the 4' thick exterior walls, but carved out closets and niches. New windows, doors. Got lucky, an old cast iron sink fit into one of the window recesses. kept the old spiral stairs but carved out new stairs in the walls. To see the thickness of the walls, turn off all layers but 0, then turn on Hidden, then Main Floor, then 2nd floor layers. There are more faces in hidden layer, this is normal. Turn all layers on except Hidden and you are back to normal. Scenes are provided for starting points. Have fun, Bob
